On the last day of the test EuroCup Qualifying Tournamentin Malaga, the APD Braga he triumphed, in double measure, against the Italian teams, securing third place, out of five possible, in his first European participation.
Compared to sign, the Minho team took advantage of the pressure on the entire field, quickly taking the lead, as illustrated by the first quarter partial – 7-21. The hegemony of pupils of Ricardo Vieira was never questioned throughout the match, which ended with the score – 17-62. José Miguel Gonçalves – 3.0 – (13pts, 3res, 5ast), Hélder Moreira – 4.0 – (10pts, 5res, 1ast, 2rb) and Hélder Freitas – 3.5 – (14pts, 5res, 1ast, 1rb) guided the Portuguese group. For the transalpine group, it was evident Pietro Simula – 4.0 – (9pts, 19res, 1ast, 1rb).
In the last challenge, the APD Braga imposed itself, with category, before the D-Junior Team – 57-29 -, a formation that offered, in spades, an excellent reply to the winner and host, Club Amivel. Once again, defensive aggressiveness and good ball mobility in attack bore fruit and allowed Braga to end the competition with two victories. José Miguel Gonçalves – 3.0 – (4pts, 18res, 7ast, 2rb), Henrique Sousa – 1.0 – (7pts,8res, 3ast, 1rb), Hélder Freitas – 3.5 – (17pts, 5res, 1ast, 1rb) and Márcio Dias – 4.5 – (13pts, 15res, 1rb) emerged as the main figures of the APD Braga. In the rival formation, the digits of Cristiano Uras – 4.5 – (13pts, 5res, 3ast, 1rb).
O Club Amivel was proclaimed winner of the tournament, with a total of victories, a result that is worth the presence, in the group stage, of EuroCup 3, in the 2024/2025 season. Regarding individual distinctions, Filipe Carneiro – 2.0 – was chosen for the ideal five, along with Cristiano Uras (D-Junior Team), Kyle Marsh – 2.0 – (Amivel), Abdi Jama – 1.0 – (Amivel) and Ezequiel Esparza – 4.0 – (Friendly).
