A 55-year-old man died after the tractor he was driving crashed into a hill, located in the parish of Melides, Grândola, according to the Civil Protection agency Lusa.
According to a source from the Alentejo Litoral Sub-Regional Emergency and Civil Protection Command, the accident happened «next to Monte dos Condutos, in Valinho da Estrada» this Saturday, with the alert being given at 5:49 pm.
According to the same source, «the victim suffered serious injuries and was, during resuscitation maneuvers, transported by ambulance to the Hospital do Litoral Alentejano, in Santiago do Cacém, but arrived at the hospital unit dead.
11 operatives were mobilized to the scene of the accident, supported by 5 vehicles, from the firefighters, GNR and National Institute of Medical Emergency (INEM).
