Prime Minister Luís Montenegro participated today in the symbolic inauguration of the first stone in the construction of the new park in the city of Esposende, even using a shovel to apply the mixture prepared for this purpose several times.

Accompanied by the mayor of Esposende, Benjamim Pereira, one of his most loyal supporters in Minho, the prime minister highlighted the importance of the work for the northern coastal area of ​​the country, as well as the investment made by the PSD authority over the years. last years.

As O MINHO reported, Esposende launched, at the beginning of this year, the public tender for the construction of Parque da Cidade with a base value of 6.5 million euros.

“This is an intervention in the area located on the right bank of the Cávado river, as a corollary of some interventions, already completed, to requalify the marginal urban front of the city of Esposende, in a logic of continuity of paths aimed at valuing these spaces for the life and recreation of the population, enabling pedestrian and cycling access, with identity, integrated, particularly in the coastal and Cávado ecovia network”, reads the notice opening the competition.

The mayor, Benjamim Pereira, considers this to be “a structuring project for the municipality and the region”.
