Porto x Sporting: where to watch the Portuguese classic

Porto hosts Sporting this Sunday (28), at the Dragão stadium, in a game valid for the 31st round of the Portuguese Championship. The Lions are in the lead with 80 points, while the Dragons are in third place with 62 points. Check out where to watch Porto x Sporting live below.

The Lisbon team is very close to winning its 20th Portuguese title. In the last round, they beat Vitória de Guimarães 3-0 at home, with goals from Pedro Gonçalves and Viktor Gyökeres (twice). With this, Sporting reached their eighth consecutive victory in the Portugal League, maintaining a seven point advantage over vice-leader Benfica.

With 12 points still up for grabs, the Lions could be crowned early champions at the end of this round. To do this, they need to win the classic against Porto and still hope for Benfica’s defeat against Braga.

But the hosts shouldn’t make it easy for the leaders, as the team is still fighting for a place in the next Europa League. At the moment, Porto and Braga are tied with 62 points, but the Dragons have a better goal difference. If they are overtaken and fall to fourth place, Porto will take the UEFA Conference League place.

In the last round, the Dragons beat Casa Pia 2-1 away from home. Galeno and Nico González scored the winning goals for the team, which is unbeaten in three matches.

For the classic, coach Sérgio Conceição will have goalkeeper Diogo Costa, right-back João Mário and striker Evanilson, all due to injury.

On Sporting’s side, coach Rúben Amorim will not be able to count on defender Ousmane Diomandé or right-back Ricardo Esgaio, who are serving an automatic suspension due to the cards. Another absence, but due to injury, is left-back Matheus Reis.
