The Gastronomic Walk will begin next to the Chapel of the Sacred Heart of Jesus in Ribeira Funda and will follow the side roads complementary to Caminho Real 23 in a walk of around 8 km that will take walkers to Arco de São Jorge, passing through the Terras de Fora and Sítio da Quebrada.

During the route, we will seek to deepen knowledge about the economic activities historically developed in these places, such as agriculture and winemaking, inviting hikers to visit local points of economic and social interest among the scenic and natural wonders of the North coast of Wood.

At the end, participants will enjoy a meal prepared by the Confraria Enogastronomica da Madeira, where local products will be favored and delicacies prepared according to ancient customs will be sampled.

The menu includes drunken chicken, Alcides-style goat and corn soup, including drinks, homemade bread and dessert.

Prior registration is required, via the address [email protected].

It is advisable to wear appropriate footwear and equipment, as well as water and a light snack.

The meeting point will be next to the Church of Arco de São Jorge at 08:30, to coordinate transport to the starting point of the walk.
