After the 1-1 draw at half-time, in the face of goals from Miguel Rocha, for the hosts, and Rafa, for the ‘dragons’, Miguel Rocha scored again for Óquei at the start of the second half, before Gonçalo Alves and Ezequiel Mena ‘turned the score around’ and several attempts to equalize, including a penalty, ‘bumped into’ the Porto goalkeeper, Xavi Malián.

The competition’s record holder, now with 19 editions of the Cup in its history, FC Porto entered more proactively, with four players in the Barcelona half of the rink, but Óquei had enough energy to make Porto’s offensive maneuver difficult and to launch the counterattack, having even opened the marker.

Shortly after Conti Acevedo saved Gonçalo Alves’ cross shot, Luís Querido won the ball, progressed at speed and assisted Miguel Rocha for a first-time, accurate shot after nine minutes.

The ‘dragons’ almost equalized in the 11th minute, with a shot by Gonçalo Alves at the post, still far from goal, but they had to go through a period of calm, in which the Minho team retained the ball and slowed down, until they scored, in the 17th minute. , with Ezequiel Mena, behind the goal, serving Rafa for the accurate amendment, at the end of a patient attack.

After the break, Miguel Rocha scored again at the start, in a move in which he lifted the ball before finishing, served by Luís Querido, in the 27th minute, but FC Porto responded in the 31st, with a first-time ‘shot’ from Gonçalo Alves at the top left corner of the goal, making it 2–2 in a ‘frenetic’ start to the second half.

Reference shooter at Óquei, Miguel Rocha hit the bar in the 33rd minute, just before FC Porto scored the goal that won them the Portuguese Cup: timely, Ezequiel Mena pushed the ball into the back of the net, after opposition from Conti Acevedo to Rafa.

Forced to react and organize the attack, the team coached by Rui Neto tried to equalize and came close to doing so several times, especially between the ‘crazy’ 40th minute, with three opportunities, and the 42nd minute, when Xavi Malián saved the great penalty charged by Luís Querido.

Until the end, FC Porto’s Catalan goalkeeper continued to successfully stop all of Barcelona’s attacks, with the ‘dragons’, in the middle, wasting a ‘hand full’ of counterattacks to close the score.

FC Porto thus returned to win a trophy that they last won in 2021/22, while Óquei continues without winning the competition since 2003/03, after a final played at the Pavilhão Municipal de Barcelos, made up, in the vast majority, of fans Barcelona fans, providing a very noisy environment during the 50 minutes of the game and also after the last horn sound.
