A The week begins this Monday, April 29th, with sunshine across the country and higher temperatures than in recent days. However, it is ‘short-lived sun’, as the rain returns on Tuesday.

According to the Portuguese Institute of the Sea and Atmosphere (IPMA), no rain is expected for any region of the country today. The sky will vary between slightly cloudy and partly cloudy. Thermometers will vary between a maximum of 23ºC in Faro and a maximum of 13ºC in Guarda.

In Lisbon, temperatures are expected to reach a maximum of 18ºC and a minimum of 11ºC and in Porto between 16ºC and 6ºC.

On Tuesday, the last day of April, precipitation is expected for practically the entire country. According to IPMA, no rain is expected for the Madeira archipelago and some islands in the Azores.

Santarém will be the hottest district with a maximum of 22ºC. Guarda, the coolest, with a maximum of 12ºC and a minimum of 4ºC. Lisbon remains at a maximum of 18ºC and Porto rises one degree, to a maximum of 17ºC. However, it will be an exception, as thermometers will drop in most districts, keeping the maximum temperature below 20ºC.

A similar scenario is expected for Wednesday, May 1st, the day on which Labor Day is celebrated. According to IPMA, no rain is expected for the Autonomous Region of Madeira and some islands in the Azores, the day will be much more flooded in all other districts.

Temperatures will drop even further, not exceeding a maximum of 19ºC in mainland Portugal. In fact, on average, thermometers will reach a maximum of 15ºC. In Lisbon they reach 16ºC but in Porto they do not exceed 14ºC. Guarda continues to be the coolest district with minimums of 2ºC and maximums of 7ºC in the middle of spring.
