Volt-E, a Braga company specializing in electric vehicle chargers, offered superhero capes to children with cancer at the Portuguese Institute of Oncology (IPO) in Porto.

In a statement sent to O MINHO today, the company highlights that the initiative brought “color and joy” to children undergoing treatment at that health unit, “transforming their IPO journey into an adventure made of smiles and superpowers”.

“This action’s mission is to bring joy, moments of play and imagination to children, making difficult moments easier to bear. This temporary escape from the hospital routine can have a significant positive impact on the emotional and psychological well-being of these little heroes, contributing to a more positive attitude towards treatment and illness”, says Dina Araújo, commercial director of Volt-E, cited in the statement.

“The love and dedication present in each interaction we were able to witness make this unit not only a treatment center, but also a community united by hope and the will to overcome adversity. Our main focus was to introduce a symbol of courage, so that, in moments when children feel more fragile and vulnerable, they can wear the ‘cape of courage’, equipped with superpowers to face treatments”, adds the person in charge. .

He concludes: “We firmly believe that companies have an ongoing social responsibility, which should not be ignored. Small gestures and actions like this can truly make a difference and inspire other companies, demonstrating that social responsibility should not be limited to specific dates on the calendar.”
