RESINORTE workers in Celorico de Basto were on strike

On April 26th, RESINORTE workers went on strike at Celorico de Basto City Council, demanding “the real increase in salaries, the valorization of careers and work with rights”.

In information sent to the media, it was mentioned that “RESINORTE workers’ income has been severely attacked in recent years, suffering a brutal loss of purchasing power, difficulties that are accentuated in this context of high cost of living, which leads to salaries becoming increasingly shorter to make. in the face of increasingly longer months.”

RESINORTE workers also say that “indifferent to this difficult situation”the administration advanced “unilaterally with salary increases at the level of ‘alms’, which workers and the STAL reject, demanding, rather, a significant increase, in order to recover the purchasing power lost several years ago, as well as respect for professional dignity, as workers who provide an essential public service to the population”guaranteeing the belief that RESINORTE’s administration has “economic and financial conditions to value their workers”.

Finally, the idea that “the profitability rate approved by the Water and Waste Services Regulatory Authority must be reflected in the improvement of the remuneration conditions of those who produce wealth”.

Claims

  • General increase in salary and all cash benefits, for all workers;
  • Payment of meal allowance in cash;
  • Right to transport subsidy;
  • Allocation of risk subsidy;
  • Valuation and allocation of seniority benefits;
  • Right to be reclassified in the professional category whose functions they perform daily;
  • Valuing professional categories and careers;
  • Urgent negotiation of a Company Agreement, in order to standardize labor rules in the company, which promotes and guarantees remuneration enhancement, professional dignity and the quality of the service provided;
  • Improvement of working conditions and full respect for Occupational Health and Safety standards.

RESINORTE workers believe that “with the strength, determination and unity of all workers, we will maintain the path of struggle for better working and living conditions”.
