A day that promised to be like any other in the Pediatrics unit of the Instituto Português de Oncologia do Porto (IPO) turned into a morning full of surprises for children who face the battle against cancer every day. Volt-E, a company from Braga specializing in electric vehicle chargers, brought color and joy to the unit, by distributing superhero capes to patients undergoing treatment.

Volt-E’s commercial director, Dina Araújo, highlights that the initiative is important to bring “joy, moments of play and imagination to children, making difficult moments easier to bear”. “This temporary escape from the hospital routine can have a significant positive impact on the emotional and psychological well-being of these little heroes, contributing to a more positive attitude towards treatment and illness”, highlights the person in charge.

Dina Araújo adds that the main focus was “to introduce a symbol of courage, so that, in moments when children feel more fragile and vulnerable, they can wear the ‘cape of courage’, equipped with superpowers to face treatments” . “We firmly believe that companies have an ongoing social responsibility, which should not be ignored. Small gestures and actions like this can truly make a difference and inspire other companies, demonstrating that social responsibility should not be limited to specific dates on the calendar,” concludes.
