Braga scales weigh fruit in the largest hypermarket chain in the world

Balanças Marques, from Braga, was chosen by the Walmart hypermarket chain to equip 71 stores in Chile.

The American company acquired BM5 commercial scales, with an adapted version of ETPOS software.

According to Balanças Marques, its equipment should print around 290 kilometers of paper in a year, namely with labels for weighing fruits, vegetables, among other fresh products.

“We arrived at Walmart. The world is our limit”, said the firm from Braga, in a post on Facebook.

This is yet another recognition for the company that was recently voted the best in the world in the segment of weighbridges for weighing trucks.

As O MINHO reported, Balanças Marques also won 2nd place in the category of best companies, in the international awards Weight Review Awards.

Founded in 1967, Balanças Marques already has more than half a century of experience in the manufacture of commercial and industrial weighing equipment. Currently, it is the main player in the Portuguese weighing market and the largest national manufacturer and exporter in the area.

With headquarters in Braga and facilities also in Lisbon, Balanças Marques has companies in Spain, France, Brazil and China, and its exports represent around two thirds of the total value of Portuguese sales of weighing equipment to other countries.

Of the turnover recorded globally by the José Pimenta Marques Group company, more than 80% concerns exports to more than 30 countries spread across the world.
