Xpeng arrives in Portugal in 2024, being yet another Chinese brand that is part of the portfolio of brands represented by the northern company. In the case of Xpeng, Salvador Caetano Auto will be responsible for the Portuguese and Spanish markets. This brings together brands such as Build Your Dreams (BYD), Dongfeng, both Chinese, the Japanese Toyota, Lexus, Honda and Nissan and the Korean Hyundai.

“Go Abroad 2.0” Strategy
The Chinese house has a well-defined strategy that includes expansion into the markets of the Old Continent. To that end, Xpeng announced last year its intention to take the brand to several markets not only in Europe but also in the Middle East and Africa. This is how Xpeng arrives in Portugal.
In order to meet the objectives of its strategic program, Xpeng found partners in several countries.
In Portugal, Salvador Caetano Auto was chosen for the Portuguese and Iberian market. The selection criteria were clear: sharing the same vision of offering the best smart technology in electric cars. On the other hand, provide the best experience and quality of service for all consumers.

On the other hand, the executive administrator of Salvador Caetano Auto and CEO of the international automotive distribution business, Sérgio Ribeiro, highlighted the importance of this partnership. “The foundations for a solid partnership between Salvador Caetano Auto and Xpeng have been established. Something that will allow us to quickly offer technologically advanced electric cars from Xpeng in the Iberian market. We will implement ourselves with total focus on the needs of each client in each market.”
