In the week of April 22nd to 28th, the GNR of Viana do Castelo said that 15 were arrested, in flagrante delicto, for driving under the influence of alcohol, four for drug trafficking, three for driving without a legal license and one for possession of prohibited weapon.
570 doses of MDMA, 230 doses of hashish, 142 doses of cocaine, two doses of liamba, a cell phone, a counterfeit 200 euro note, a manual opening knife, a pocket knife, a precision scale and 90 euros in cash were also seized. cash.
As part of traffic operations, 231 infractions were recorded, with emphasis on 51 for lack of mandatory periodic inspection, 38 for driving with a blood alcohol level higher than that permitted by law and 35 for speeding.
17 infractions were also recorded for being overweight, 12 for lack of or incorrect use of seat belts and/or child restraint systems, 11 for lack of civil liability insurance, ten related to anomalies in lighting and signaling systems, six related to two-wheeled vehicles with engines, five for improper use of a cell phone while driving, two related to tires and one related to tachographs.
From April 22 to 28, there were 63 accidents in the district. Of these, 18 were slightly injured. Regarding general supervision, three infraction notices were issued: two in the context of nature and environmental protection and one in the scope of general police.
