The book “50 Anos de Abril na Galicia”, coordinated by professors Carlos Pazos-Justo and Roberto Samartin, respectively from the universities of Minho and A Coruña, will be presented this Tuesday, at 6:00 pm, at the Lúcio Craveiro da Silva Library , in Braga.

The session features interventions by Carlos Pazos-Justo and researchers Sónia Duarte and Henrique Barreto Nunes, who collaborate on the work. The initiative has free entry and is in partnership with Via Editora and the Braga Democratic Movement.

The 168-page volume, now in bookstores and online, brings together different perspectives on the 25th of April and the views of 12 Galician and Portuguese authors, from the historian Fernando Rosas, the Lusitanist Elias Torres Feijó or Manuel Durán Clemente, one of the captains of April. The work also reproduces photos and documents about various intersections that April led to in Galician-Portuguese relations, such as union and musical complicities in the opposition.

In line with many activities emerging these days in Portugal and around the world, the book aims to mark 50 years of the Carnation Revolution from Galicia, and, with more modesty, accentuate the approach to the historical process, rescuing Portuguese and Galician memories.
