Oliveira do Hospital opens applications for Youth Participatory Budget

The Municipality of Oliveira do Hospital is accepting applications until May 13th for proposals to be considered within the scope of the Youth Participatory Budget. This year, the amount available for allocation is 12 thousand euros.

The Youth Participatory Budget, an initiative in collaboration with the Municipal Youth Council, aims to directly involve young people in the decision-making process, providing them with the opportunity to present project proposals considered relevant to the municipality of Oliveira do Hospital.

With this measure, the Municipality of Oliveira do Hospital intends to strengthen a more participatory and informed municipal management model, encouraging the exercise of active and responsible citizenship by young people in the context of local governance, aiming to define priorities in municipal investment.

At the same time, the municipality seeks to encourage dialogue between elected officials, municipal technicians, citizens and civil society, organizing them in the search for the best solutions to problems, taking into account available resources.

Proposals for the 2024 Participatory Budget can be submitted individually or on behalf of civil society organizations based in the municipality, by citizens aged between 16 and 35, who are workers, students, residents or natives of Oliveira do Hospital.

It is essential that proposals indicate the estimated value, the location of implementation and highlight the objectives, aligned with the areas of urban planning, rehabilitation and requalification, energy, mobility, education, heritage and science, leisure time and sport, health, social action, housing, environmental protection, consumer protection, tourism, trade and economic promotion, public space and green spaces, culture and events, youth, territorial marketing and communication.

Furthermore, proposals must be duly substantiated, highlighting the objectives, recipients and benefits for the population of public investment. The two proposals with the most votes will be approved, to which the amount of 5,500 euros will be allocated, respectively.

Applications for the 2024 Youth Participatory Budget must be submitted by May 13th on the Participa.Gov platform.
