The “Dance workshop for all feet” by 2PÉSquerdos, Mercedes Prieto and Mafalda Silva Rego, took place at the Cultural Center, in Viana do Castelo, on April 25th, as part of the program of “Ler em Viana – Festa do Livro e das Artes “.

The celebration of the 50th anniversary of April 25 marked the theme of the workshop, which was inspired by the words “reading” and “freedom” and which sought to celebrate Zeca Afonso, visiting some of the places that marked the musician and poet’s life.

The book “Um Menino Chamado Zeca”, by José Jorge Letria and Zeca Afonso’s latest album “Galinhas do Mato”, motivated the more than 100 participants in this workshop (children and their families) to start dancing. Then, it was time to experience the beauty and rhythm of the words of one of her poems and to learn traditional dances.

The two trainers highlighted the imagination and joy of all participants, but above all highlighted the way in which the children’s families motivated themselves to dance with them, creating happy memories linked to dancing.

There was still time to, as a tribute, listen, in silence, to the musician and poet.
