Clube Atlético de Macedo de Cavaleiros drew 0-0 with Minas de Argozelo, on their visit to Campo da Cova, in a match played this Sunday, referring to the 22nd and final round of the District Championship. With this outcome, the Macedonian emblem ensures its qualification for the next edition of the Portuguese Cup by guaranteeing third place.
In an intense match, where the fight for a desirable place in the Portuguese Cup encouraged the teams, the only thing missing were goals in a high-intensity game and some nervousness in the mix.
Both teams came out determined to win, but it was Macedo de Cavaleiros who created the clearest opportunities; Highlighting Mantorras’ hat attempt, at 10′.
Still in the first half, at 14′, protests from the Macedonian bench were audible, demanding handball in Willian’s Argozelian area.
In the second half, the visitors’ complaints increased in tone after the expulsion of Lauro, who received the red card after stopping Enio’s run.
With a numerical advantage, Argozelo were more pressing and, among several shot attempts, Diz’s shot stands out, already in added time, which could have decided the match.
The final moments of the match were “hot”, with enormous confusion between players from both teams, resulting in the expulsion of Edison and Argozelo’s substitute goalkeeper, Veloso.
