PACT pioneers technology and launches immersive rooms (with photos)

PACT – Parque do Alentejo de Ciência e Tecnologia, in Évora, is a pioneer in the country with the creation of Immersive Rooms, which were opened this Monday.

The immersive rooms, now opened, are equipped for gaming, virtual reality and other technologies, which will be available to PACT companies as well as the Alentejo community and students.

Soumodip Sarkar, Executive President of PACT, explained to journalists that “there are now two rooms that provide virtual and more immersive experiences”.

For the person responsible, “the potential is enormous, in terms of training, having an almost real experience here”.

The rooms “are not yet fully equipped as expected, but we intend to raise more funds to have what we want”, he stressed.

João Assunção, director of operations at PACT, specified that “the investment in equipment was around 130 thousand euros, having obtained community financing through POCTEP”.

João Assunção, also mentioned that “this project includes two different rooms, one more prepared for gaming, artificial intelligence and high-performance computers and the other room is prepared to use new technologies for presentations, videoconferences, among events that can be held there to happen”.
