Aquapor, market leader in the Management of Municipal Concessions and Provision of water supply and wastewater sanitation services directly to the population, municipalities and industries, guarantees that “using appropriate treatment technologies, agri-food industries can recover 50% to 90% of the wastewater they produce.”

For that reason, the water circularity in the agricultural and agri-food sector will be highlighted today from 11 am, in Ovibejain a debate promoted by Aquapor and which aims to raise awareness of the new guidelines to be applied to wastewater, as well as the solutions that exist for the treatment of effluents.

The scarcity of water caused by climate change has led different sectors of activity to adopt measures that promote circularity and water efficiency.

For the director of Industrial Solutions at Aquapor, Fátima Pedroso, “in the case of agri-food industries, it is possible to significantly reduce water consumption, through the reuse of its effluents, which can be treated and applied for different purposes”.

“If industrial effluents are used only for irrigation, recovery of more than 90% is possible. On the other hand, if we talk about non-food industrial uses, such as use in boilers and cooling systems, industries will be able to recover 50% to 60% of their effluents”, explains the person in charge.

As a way of promoting the use of alternative water sources, namely industrial effluents, Aquapor has been developing several solutions that can be adapted to the reality of each industry.

The Colloquium “Circularity of Water in the Agricultural and Agri-food Sector” is free to attend.
