The Salesians of the Portuguese Province of the Salesian Society begin the meeting on May 1st that will deepen the theme of GC29 “In love with Jesus Christ, dedicated to young people”. The 2024 Provincial Chapter will choose the Delegate of the Province for the main meeting of the Congregation that will take place next year.
From the 1st to the 4th of May, the Salesians of the Portuguese Province of the Salesian Society will meet at the Provincial House in Lisbon for the Provincial Chapter. Twenty-six Salesians, representing the various communities, will delve deeper into the theme of General Chapter 29, “Passionate about Jesus Christ, Dedicated to Young People – For a faithful and prophetic life of our Salesian vocation”, which will take place from 16 February to April 12, 2025 and which will elect the next Rector Major of the Congregation, the XI Successor of Saint John Bosco.
The 2024 Provincial Chapter will also choose the Delegate to General Chapter 29 and their alternates. This will also be the opportunity to listen, discern and envisage the future path of life shared with young people, lay people, members of the various groups and all those who make up the Salesian Family.
Regarding matters relating to the Portuguese Province, the chapter members will also approve the Organic Inspectorial Project.
