Starting next Saturday, May 4th, Estação Viana Shopping, in Viana do Castelo, will promote free ceramics and painting workshops, as part of the agenda of the “Pulsar Viana” cultural project. Sessions are free.
In the first, which is scheduled for May 4th, participants will have the opportunity to create their own ceramic piece. In this case, a mug that can have the shape and design of your choice.
The following Saturday, the 11th, the workshop is dedicated to tile painting, in homage to this rich Portuguese cultural heritage.
The Estação Viana Shopping program continues on May 18th with a ceramics session with plants, in which participants will explore the tracing of plants/flowers in clay, taking advantage of the beauty of their silhouettes to decorate the pieces created. The last workshop is scheduled for May 25th and, this time, using the pinch pot technique, it will be possible to create incredible vases, highlighting the beauty of manual work.
The best part is that the pieces created in these workshops, which are promoted by GOCA – Galeria e Oficina de Cerâmica e Azulejos, will be treated so that participants can pick them up three weeks later, at the Center’s Information Desk, on Floor 1.
The activities take place on Floor 2, at 11 am, and are limited to 10 participants, and do not require prior registration: they operate on a first-come, first-served basis. The Estação Viana Shopping program returns in June with an exhibition and workshops with different themes — more information soon.
Additionally, on the 4th and 5th of May, between 2pm and 6pm, Estação Viana Shopping will host workshops designed for the little ones, in order to mark the celebration of Mother’s Day. It is at “Estação dos Workshops”, the The Center’s most recent space created to organize workshops with this public, on the 2nd Floor, where children will be able to create an original gift with their own hands to offer on this special date. Here, they will be able to model, create and paint a flower on corrugated cardboard.
