The MERIDIES 2 project has received funding of more than 1.3 million euros from the PRR, with the Directorate-General for Higher Education as the intermediate beneficiary. This is another result of the partnership between the Polytechnic of Portalegre (coordinator of the consortium), the Polytechnic of Santarém, the Polytechnic of Setúbal and the Polytechnic of Beja.

The project was proposed to the Impulsos Jovens and Impulso Adultos program and aims to reinforce training capacity in digital skills, particularly for non-CTEAM subject areas. It focuses on the development of training offers in the areas of IT, Audiovisual and Media Production, and Energy and Automation, in order to enhance the qualification and requalification of future trainees (with basic training in non-CTEAM areas).

In this context, the aim is to have three CTeSP in operation, more than 50 micro-credentials and nine postgraduate training programs (between masters and postgraduate degrees), involving more than a hundred employers and external partners.

It will be possible to equip HEIs, with a view to having an innovative educational environment and integrating new teaching and learning methodologies, but also significantly supporting students, through the granting of financial support, to participate in different training offers.

In this way, it is expected to provide conditions for attracting and securing qualified resources, with potential interventions in the development of the territory.
