The presentation will be made by Barroso da Fonte (writer and dean of Portuguese journalists) and José Almeida (literary critic and deputy director of Revista Nova Águia).

This work, released by the publisher Zéfiro, presents 215 oral narratives recovered in the northeast of Trás-os-Montes and accompanied by the respective historical-anthropological study. They include a vast set of legendary records associated with chapels, souls, apparitions of the Virgin, treasures in the ruins of forts and castles, lost souls, werewolves, witches and demons, along with a vast list of popular tales, classified according to the international catalogues, which include religious tales, animal tales, enchantment tales, jocular and anti-clerical tales.

It should be noted that the Casa dos Transmontanos e Alto-Durienses, based at Rua Costa Cabral, 1037, in Porto, will precede this session with a regional lunch for Trás-os-Montes, marking the 40th anniversary.

SUPPORT OUR WORK. SUPPORT NEARBY JOURNALISM.

At a time when information is more important than ever, support regional and local journalism. Access to most VTM news is (still) free, but it is not free, journalism costs money and requires investment. This contribution is a way of directly supporting A Voz de Trás-os-Montes and its journalists. Our counterpart is independent and local journalism, but not only that. It means continuing to inform despite all the contingencies of confinement, without having stopped for a single day.
