A very intimate concert is what fado singer Aldina Duarte promises when, on May 3rd, at 9:30 pm, she takes to the stage in the main room of Theatro Circo. The show focuses on the artist’s most recent album called ‘Metade – Metade’.
The artist is expecting a full house and says she is very excited to be performing, for the second time, in one of the most beautiful concert halls she has ever been to.
“Throughout my artistic life I have been to many rooms around the world. Very beautiful rooms and among them is the Theatro Circo. It is a very beautiful and soulful room, which for me is already motivating to do a show in Braga”, said Aldina Duarte to ‘Correio do Minho’. The fado singer promises a “very intimate” concert, also provided by the room’s atmosphere. main part of Theatro Circo.
As for the public, the fado singer reveals that when she passed through Braga the first time she felt “a lot of empathy”, even though she does not consider herself a “very well-known artist”.
“I have the feeling that when I was in Braga for the first time as an artist, people reacted clearly. I have the notion that I managed to reach people’s hearts. I’m already starting to have a loyal audience, because I have the feeling that people already believe in my work”, said the fado singer.
A sensation that Aldina Duarte already experienced about two weeks ago at a concert in Viana do Castelo.
The Theatro Circo concert will allow the Braga public to present the new album ‘Metade-Metade’, considered a work with some innovation. “I continue to work with traditional fado, but this work is different. Capicua wrote all the lyrics for the songs. She is a fantastic writer. She told me to explain the rules of fado to her, because that is not her area, she comes from other music, but it was a very beautiful work”, said Aldina Duarte. The central theme of the recording work is universal love. “In my fados the central theme is love, but this album is about nature, social issues and universal love. Capicua adds the history of poetry to fado. She used new words and this made the songs very beautiful and interesting”, said fado singer Aldina Duarte.
The fado singer features Bernardo Romão (Portuguese guitar), Rogério Ferreira (viola), and Ana Isabel Dias (harp). Tickets cost 20 euros (10 euros for Quadrilátero Card holders).
