Olivum will promote the colloquium «Quality Certification in the Valorization of Azeite», on May 4th, at 11:00 am, as part of the 40th Edition of Ovibeja, which started yesterday and lasts until May 5th, in the capital of Baixo Alentejo.

The colloquium will be moderated by Susana Sassettii, executive director of Olivum, will have professor Raquel Lucas, from the University of Évora, as keynote speaker, and will feature interventions by Paula Hipólito, specialist in Quality Regimes, José Duarte, president of the board of directors from the Agricultural cooperative of Moura and Barrancos, Luís Vaz Freire, departmental manager of CERTIS, and Duarte Correia, administrator of Lagar Olivais do Sul.

In addition to promoting this initiative, the association will also be present at the event with an institutional stand, the theme of which is Olivum’s ten years.

There, the aim is to «make known the work that has been developed and the evolution of the sector over the last decade through various interactive media, as well as publicize to everyone present the first edition of Revista Olivum, the first magazine professional in the olive sector”.

«At this year’s Ovibeja, Olivum reinforces its commitment to encouraging the promotion of education on the choice and consumption of olive oil, and marks the beginning of a new journey. At the same time, Olivum remains a protagonist in dialogue and defense of the sector in Portugal, ensuring a prosperous future for olive growers and mills in our country», comments Susana Sassetti, executive director of the Association of Olive Growers and Mills of Portugal.

Participation in Ovibeja also marks the start of the campaign “When we talk about olive oil, we understand each other”.
