The Liga Portugal and the Portuguese Football Federation released, this Tuesday, the calendars of professional competitions for the next season, with the kick-off dates of the Portuguese Championship and Portuguese Cup being of particular interest to Brigantine fans.

The 2024/2025 edition of the Portuguese Championship, scheduled to start on August 18, will feature the participation of Grupo Desportivo de Bragança, the only representative of the Bragança Football Association in the competition, after, in the previous season, Mirandela failed to hold maintenance in the national race.

Meanwhile, the Portuguese Cup will see its first round take place on September 7th and 8th, with emphasis on the participation of AF Bragança affiliates; Football Club of Vinhais, Macedo de Cavaleiros and Grupo Desportivo de Bragança.

The I Liga teams enter the competition in the third round, scheduled for October 18th and 19th. The final is scheduled for May 25th.

The Super Cup marks the start of the football season, and is scheduled for the 3rd or 4th of August.

Leagues I and II will have their opening matches on the 10th or 11th of August, respectively, with the 34th and final round scheduled for the 17th and 18th of May 2025.

The League Cup will have a new dynamic next season, with only eight participating teams competing in the quarter-finals on October 30th. The ‘Playoff’ will take place, again, in Leiria, with the semi-finals on the 7th and 8th of January 2025, and the final on the 11th of the same month.

Finally, League 3 will begin on the 3rd and 4th of August, ending on the 18th of May.

The draw for professional competitions is scheduled for July 7th.
