Land for urbanization in Aveiro at public auction for three million euros
The Aveiro City Council approved this Thursday at its public meeting the sale at public auction, for a base value of three million euros, of a plot of land next to the former São Bernardo Mental Health Center for urbanization.
At issue is the sale of a plot of land belonging to the municipality’s private domain, located on Rua das Cilhas, with a base value of 3,084,600 euros, for the provision of housing at controlled costs (around 120 dwellings) and seven single-family homes.
According to the municipality, the respective urban planning operations “will also promote urban structuring, also stimulating investment in land adjacent to this and which are waiting”.
At the same meeting, the urban study of Cilhas, in São Bernardo, was also approved, on the land immediately to the east of the old Mental Health Center, in order to structure the entire space so that it “accommodates current concepts of urbanity”, occupying a “void urban area”, with around seven hectares.
“Urban design essentially translates into a regular organization of multi-family housing complexes for housing at controlled costs, and some houses, promoting the appearance of green spaces and sports equipment that are designed on a more comprehensive scale, framed within a green structure that promotes connection/articulation with equipment and ecological corridors to the north of the study area”, says the municipality.
The study also recommends changes to the road system, namely the intersection of the São Bernardo road, integrating left-turn solutions, ensuring better safety and fluidity.
The roundabout at the south end of Rua das Cilhas was also rethought, considering the existing roads and incorporating the road that will result from the extension of the subdivision operation.
