The investigation by the Judiciary Police (PJ) had the collaboration of the Federal Police of Brazil and “was started very recently” due to “the nature of urgency, taking into account the seriousness of the suspicions”. Through the Internet, the young man, now detained in North zone, “promoted Nazism, inciting extremist behavior”.
According to what SIC found out, the young man, who will be presented this Friday to the judicial authority for the application of coercive measures, is the son of separated parents and lived alternately between Vila da Feira and Gondomar.
“The detainee created and manages a group on the Discord platform, already duly identified, where different people apologists for the same ideals gathered and who intended to commit acts similar to those idealized and propagated by him, such as: serious self-mutilation of young people, mutilation and death of animals, dissemination of extremist Nazi propaganda, instigation and practice of the ‘mission’ to commit massacres in schools (filmed and transmitted via cell phone) and, also, sharing and sale of child pornography by this suspect”, reads the PJ statement.
This type of conduct, reveals the Judiciary, “was shared in the group”, including in “live broadcasts of attacks against animals that lead to their mutilation and death, young people drinking detergent and mutilating themselves with sharp objects”.
Tell PJ that through a “particularly violent and extremist ideology, the young detainee provided advice regarding the modus operandi and clothing to be worn by other participants when preparing and committing crimes”.
“Among others, it was following these behaviors that the attack with a firearm (a 38 caliber revolver) took place in a school in Sapopemba, Brazilresulting in the death of a 17-year-old female”, recalls the PJ.
In the group, Through the Discord platform, the perpetrator of the crime even shared images of the weapon and balaclava (hat) he would use, as well as the school where the crime would take place.
One type of crimehighlights the Judiciary, “which the law defines as violent crime and especially violent crime, being considered crimes of priority prevention and investigation“.
This Thursday there were house searches and “seized a vast collection of evidence, namely computer and digital material”.
A investigation will continue, with one of the main lines of investigation identifying, in international terms, other agents of crimes in which they may be involved in this network and this type of conduct.
Fatal attack at school in São Paulo
The firearm attack at a school in Brazil, which the Judiciary refers to in the statement, took place in October 2023.
The perpetrator was a 15-year-old student who entered the Sapopemba State School, in São Paulo, armed – with his father’s gun – and shot indiscriminately.
One student succumbed to her injuries and three other people were injured.
