Applications open for SASUC Nursery and Kindergarten

The Nursery and Kindergarten (JI) are one of the social supports provided by the Social Action Services of the University of Coimbra (SASUC) to the UC Community, with priority places for UC students, teachers, researchers and technicians. For the 2024/2025 academic year, applications are now open, and must be submitted by May 31st, online, here.

With 60 places, the Nursery is aimed at children aged 3 to 36 months and has four activity rooms for different ages. JI, with capacity for 85 children, has four activity rooms for children aged 3 to 6.

With more than 50 years of existence, the SASUC Nursery and Kindergarten are a reference in the city of Coimbra. Every school year, children from Creche and JI develop educational projects that cover the dimensions of sustainability, heritage and culture. Those carried out in outdoor spaces stand out, namely in the Creche and JI spaces, but also in spaces at the University of Coimbra, such as the Botanical Garden or the Geophysical Institute, among others.

In addition, a range of extracurricular activities are available, such as English, music, swimming, skating, judo or creative dance, some of which result from partnerships with sports sections of the Coimbra Academic Association.

Both services operate from Monday to Friday, from 8 am to 6:30 pm, closing on weekends and holidays, and part of August.
