Ten magicians will be present at the second edition of the Braga International Illusionism Festival. An initiative of the Montélios and S. Frutuoso Residents’ Association within the scope of the ‘Viva o Bairro’ program.
The event takes place on May 31st and June 1st with the shows scheduled for three different locations: Churchyard of S. Francisco, Parque Norte and Quinta Pedagógica.

The event will also have a restaurant space in the churchyard, run by the association of Residents of Parque Norte and Scouts of Braga – Group 53 Real
The presentation of the event was attended by Carlos Videira, executive administrator of BragaHabit, Francisco Silva, president of the Union of Parishes of Real, Dume and Semelhe, and Adolfo Reis, president of the Association of Residents of Montélios and S. Frutuoso .
According to Carlos Videira, this is an initiative that only takes place during one weekend, but whose effect has repercussions throughout the year.
“After the 1st Festival, the Association of Residents of Montélios and São Frutuoso increased from 390 to 945 members, there was a greater participation of associative bodies and leaders, the Association was recognized by its residents and the living forces of the city, community life improved and neighborhood ties were strengthened. This is our main objective of the Viva o Bairro Program, giving Residents’ Associations the power to decide and promote the projects that best suit their reality”, he stated.
Ten magicians will be present at the event, which takes place on May 31st and June 1st and whose performances will be divided into the following locations: Churchyard of S. Francisco, Parque Norte and Quinta Pedagógica.
This edition will have the participation of ‘Pilou’, current world magic champion, as well as the Spanish Deja Nuñez, Arkadio, Óscar Escalante and Txema. At national level, Manuel Barata, Solange Cardinale, Guto, Cris and Salguery will be present.
The event will also have a restaurant space in the churchyard, run by the association of Residents of Parque Norte and Scouts of Braga – Grupo 53 Real
The first edition of this Festival took place last year and received around 1900 spectators.
