Competition to explore Esplanada Jardim in Mealhada runs until June 14th

As we had already reported, the Mealhada Chamber unanimously approved, in a meeting of the municipal executive, the launch of the public tender for the award of the Right to Operate the Cafeteria in the Municipal Garden of Mealhada, which will run until the 14th of June. .

The competition will have a base bid of 350 euros (+VAT) per month, with a five-year exploration right, subsequently renewed for successive periods of two years, up to a limit of six years. “In parallel with the work that is taking place, we are launching the competition, because our objective is for the opening of this equipment to be very quick”, explained António Jorge Franco, president of the Municipality, adding that the specifications have several guidelines in sense of valuing local products, as well as cultural dynamism.

The “Esplanada Jardim”, located in the Municipal Garden, was, for many years, a meeting and socializing point for the general population, having been deactivated to make way for a new construction that is expected to be completed next July.

“This emblematic and dynamic space in the city center is really needed. Care was taken to have a very low base value and, therefore, we appeal to the honesty and seriousness of whoever decides to present a project”, highlighted Filomena Pinheiro, vice-president of the Mealhada Chamber.
