The Barcelos company Cottonanswer, dedicated to the manufacture of underwear, had revenues of around 23 million euros in 2023, said the company’s CEO, pointing to the continuous investment in production to reach these numbers.
Remember that this brand recovered the former Têxtil do Minho, in Lijó, after it was in bankruptcy and about to lay off around 80 workers in 2013.
In this case, it was an intervention carried out by the engineer António Santos, who worked there, and decided to buy the assets during the insolvency processes that Têxtil do Minho was going through.
Now, 10 years later, António Santos, quoted by the newspaper T, assures that the “investments have been supported by support lines, namely PT2020 and PRR”, through the ‘World Expansion Through Disruptive Design Products’ plan.
He explains that this support allowed the creation of a capacity for differentiation in terms of quality parameters ranging from production, dyeing, finishing, logistics, sustainability, digitalization and employee training.
The company was born in 2013 after having managed to take advantage of the assets of another company in difficulty, managing to earn 16 million euros in 2019, doubling the number of workers.
