The launch of the NOW channel, broadcast live on Friday on CMTVwas the absolute leader in cable television, registering more audience than its competitors’ information channels.
The ceremony started at 6:25 pm and lasted 36 minutes. It was broadcast in full, and live.
During this period, it recorded an average audience of 120 thousand viewers, with a share of 3.7%. At the same time as NOW, SIC Notícias came in second place, with around 72 thousand viewers, and a 2.2% share. In third place was CNN Portugal, with just over half the audience of the NOW presentation, that is, around 63 thousand viewers and a 1.9% share. Lastly, RTP-3 recorded 21,400 viewers on average, with a 0.7% share.
The live broadcast of the NOW presentation recorded good audiences across most commercial targets, even leading cable consumption in some more relevant criteria, such as class A (6% share), ABCD 25-54 (4.1% share ) and purchasing managers (3.5% share). Among the active population, the launch of NOW registered a 3.8% share, and in classes ABCD 15-54, 3.7%.
Present at the presentation of NOW were the Minister of Parliamentary Affairs, Pedro Duarte, and representatives of the 3 operators, MEO, NOS and Vodafone.
NOW will be broadcast on channel 9 on all platforms and will begin broadcasting soon.
NOW is an information channel, with a predominance of political, economic and international topics. It will feature protagonists such as António Costa, Santana Lopes, Graça Freitas, Rui Rio, Fernando Medina or Cardinal Américo Aguiar.
