PSP and GNR union platform will send counterproposal to the Government

The platform of the unions and associations of the Public Security Police (PSP) and the National Republican Guard (GNR) considered, this Saturday, that the Government’s proposal for the new mission supplement is “unacceptable and vexatious” and explained that in In certain cases, it ends up reducing some of the income.

The platform regrets the first proposal from the Ministry of Internal Administration (MAI), supervised by Margarida Blasco, as it reveals a “normative lack of respect for the dignity of GNR and PSP professionals, a gesture that has already been committed”.

In a statement, the PSP and the GNR expressed “surprise, astonishment and indignation at the proposal” of the MAI, at the meeting on May 2, where the Minister of Internal Administration proposed a mission supplement (SM) for the elements of the PSP and of the GNR between 365.13 and 625.94 euros, which will replace the current supplement for service and risk in the security forces.

The platform, which indicated that it will come forward with a counter-proposal, understands that this suggestion translates into a “ridiculous valuation and, in many cases, a reduction in income, if it were not for a safeguard clause that guarantees, for these last cases, an increase in 75 euros, and in several situations the appreciation is around nine euros”.

“This generally results in a depreciation in the short/medium term of the amounts currently paid through the current Supplement for Service and Risk in the Security Forces (supplement suppressed and replaced by the SM)”, he adds.

The union that brings together the two security forces considers that this proposal “is absolutely unacceptable and vexatious”, and “the only parity it presents with the PJ is in the nomenclature of Mission Supplement”, and “in its content it does not present any planning or study, regarding the objective it aims to achieve, namely giving parity to the police status of FS professionals [Forças de Segurança]with regard to compensation for Risk, Unhealthiness, Harmfulness, permanent availability, responsibility and subjection until retirement or reform to a specific code of ethics and special disciplinary status”.
