Centro2030 announced the opening of competitions worth 50 million euros to support investment by companies in the Central region, 15 million of which will be allocated exclusively to low-density territories. The two competitions, within the scope of the Business Competitiveness Incentive System (SICE), aim to boost productive innovation, with a view to strengthening the business fabric and promoting innovative activities by companies in the region.

With an allocation of 50 million euros of European funds, the two competitions are intended to support micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) to make productive investments in innovative activities, generating tradable and internationalizable products and services, with high added value and level of national incorporation.

One of the tender notices, with an allocation of 15 million, is dedicated exclusively to supporting investments in low-density territories. The other competition, with an allocation of 35 million euros, covers the entire region.

This is a multi-program notice, common to the Compete 2030 Program and regional programs. Compete 2030, with its own allocation, also supports investment projects in the Central Region that have a total investment of more than 3 million euros.

Companies’ applications can be submitted until September 16th (1st phase) or until December 30th, 2024 (2nd phase). The competition notices can be consulted on the Centro 2030 website HERE.

Meanwhile, seven companies already know that they will receive support of 25 million euros (ME) from the Just Transition Fund (FTJ) for investment projects in the Médio Tejo, following the closure of the Pego Thermoelectric Power Plant, in Abrantes, announced the CCDR Center.

The global investment amounts to 51 ME and will create 209 jobs in Abrantes, Entroncamento, Ourém and Vila Nova da Barquinha, as you can see HERE.
