Applications for the Housing Rental Support Program “It’s Good to Live Here” are open until May 24th. The Municipality of Póvoa de Varzim intends with this initiative, which is being repeated for the seventh time, to “promote decent housing and equal opportunities for the entire community, especially for Póvoa de Varzim families”. Thus, the municipality gives access to “holders of rental contracts with socioeconomic difficulties to resort to support, created within the scope of the 26 million investment foreseen by the municipality for the Local Housing Strategy”.
After consulting the regulations, those interested in this support must submit their application by filling out the form that must be delivered in paper format, after filling in the requested information, at the Municipal Service Center (Praça do Almada 38 4490-438 Póvoa de Varzim ).

Households that need financial assistance to pay their rent can benefit from this program, as long as they are not beneficiaries of support granted within the scope of urban leasing (except support in which legislation allows accumulation).
Support is granted for a period of one year, renewable up to a maximum limit of 36 months, and includes three levels of support (1, 2 and 3), with a variable percentage, not exceeding 50% of the rent.
