It was one of the biggest concerts in history. 1.6 million people watched Madonna’s free show on Copacabana beach, in Rio de Janeiro.

It was with the hit “Nothing Realy Matters” that Madonna opened the last concert of her world tour, celebrating 40 years of her musical career.

On Saturday night, Copacabana beach in Rio de Janeiro was filled with 1.6 million people to watch the spectacle.

Considered by many to be the Queen of Pop, Madonna, aged 65, gave one of the biggest free-admission concerts in history.

There were those who waited hours, or even days at the venue, to get a good seat. Others preferred to watch the concert on boats anchored next to the beach.

Anitta, Pablo Vittar and several samba schools also took to the stage.

The government of Rio de Janeiro invested more than 3 and a half million euros in the show. It is estimated that the return was more than 50 million euros for the region’s economy.

The American singer performed some of the biggest hits, such as “Like a Prayer” and “Hung Up”, at the concert that marked the end of “The O”.
