The president of Chega spoke to journalists at a press conference at Chega’s national headquarters, in Lisbon, and recalled that he challenged the PSD several times during the campaign and on legislative election night to establish a government agreement that would guarantee stability for four years. .

The president of Chega today criticized the prime minister and leader of the PSD, considering that Luís Montenegro “didn’t want to talk, but now wants the other parties to say amen to his proposals”, and accused him of being “arrogant and proud”.

“The same prime minister who didn’t want agreements, didn’t want dialogue, didn’t want conversation, now wants the other parties to say amen to his proposals without even understanding that these parties also have an electoral program, political ideas and an idea for Portugal” , he stated.

André Ventura was speaking to journalists at a press conference at Chega’s national headquarters, in Lisbon, and recalled that he challenged the PSD several times during the campaign and on the legislative election night to establish a government agreement that would guarantee stability for four years.

“The prime minister said no, ‘we will govern alone’, and now he is complaining that he cannot approve his measures in parliament”, he criticized.

And he considered that the “accusation that André Ventura and Pedro Nuno Santos were allies to make life difficult for the Government, in addition to being pathetic, only shows the inability to govern” of Luís Montenegro.

“The Prime Minister defined the path he wanted to follow, alone, obstinate, arrogant and proud”, he criticized, considering that this “is being one of the most incapable governments in history in responding to the hope that the Portuguese placed in him and on the right. to make serious change in Portugal.”

Accusing the social democrat of wanting to “govern while avoiding the promises” he made during the campaign, André Ventura highlighted that he does not count on Chega for this and argued that “whoever made promises to the Portuguese must above all keep them”.

The president of Chega guaranteed that he will continue “to do what is best for the Portuguese”, even if this means voting on proposals in parliament without the Government’s knowledge.

André Ventura also referred to statements by Hugo Soares on the Expresso da Meia-noite program, on SIC.

“The PSD parliamentary leader said that Chega failed to keep its word in the agreements it made in parliament. The one who has consistently failed to keep its word in recent months has been the Government, because the agreements it wanted to make with Chega, despite telling the country that it is no, had nothing to do with our electoral proposals or with those that AD had presented”, he stated.

At this point, the leader of Chega said that “there are no agreements because they said no”.

“The PSD talking about agreements is just for us to laugh at. I don’t even understand, if the PSD said it wasn’t no and that there was no agreement or any conversation, I don’t understand what that conversation is about the agreements that were made with Chega. I honestly can’t understand it,” he said, laughing.

Stating that “the PSD wants the best of all worlds without having to compromise on absolutely anything”, Ventura maintained that this does not exist, and left a warning: “the PSD knows what it is doing, I hope it knows well, because time It’s running really fast.”

The president of Chega also stated that, if the only thing the PSD wants “is to continue to govern like the socialists, failing all their promises, they will not count on Chega”, challenging Luís Montenegro to reach an understanding with the secretary general of Chega. PS, Pedro Nuno Santos, for central bloc governance.
