Don’t be fooled by the fog. Thermometers will reach 31 degrees in Seixal
After a week with cold wind and some rain, get ready for warmer days in the municipality.
UV rays are our skin’s invisible enemy, especially when it’s foggy. Although clouds cover the sun, they do not prevent the passage of this type of radiation that is harmful to our health. The fog will arrive in force in Seixal and comes with a high risk of UV rays — 9 on a scale of 0 to 10 — so it is advisable to use sunscreen.
According to the Portuguese Institute of the Sea and Atmosphere (IPMA), temperatures will increase significantly this week. Monday, May 6th, you can expect sun and few clouds in the sky, and the temperature will still be what you are used to, with a minimum of 12 degrees and a maximum of 23 degrees.
May 7th, Tuesday, the scenario changes. The fog will reach Seixal and the incidence of UV rays will rise to category 8. The minimum temperature will drop to 11 degrees, but the maximum will rise to 27. Wednesday, May 8, will be the worst day To leave the house, the incidence of UV rays will rise to 9 and the maximum temperature will reach 31 degrees, meaning a minimum of 14 is expected.
On Thursday, May 9, the UV danger will drop to 7. The fog is expected to begin to clear and give way to clear, sunny skies. Minimum temperatures will remain at 14 degrees and maximum temperatures will begin to drop to 29 degrees. Friday, May 10th, will be an authentic beach day with clear skies, a maximum of 30 degrees and a minimum of 14 degrees.
For the weekend, the IPMA predicts that there will be few clouds in the sky and there will be very sunny days. On Saturday, May 11th, you can expect a minimum of 15 degrees and a maximum of 30 degrees. On Sunday, May 12th, thermometers will drop to 14 degrees and rise to 27. Protect yourself and don’t be fooled by the fog, put on sunscreen, especially for kids, and avoid causing damage to your skin.
