Jornal de Leiria – Marco Ramos re-elected coordinator of the Liberal Initiative in Leiria

Marco Ramos, business consultant, was re-elected as coordinator of the Leiria Center of the Liberal Initiative (IL), now starting his third term. The reappointment took place during the XII plenary session of the nucleus, held on Saturday, which was attended by Pedro Almeida, member of the party’s Executive Committee responsible for the Territory.

In a statement, Marco Ramos, who in the last municipal elections headed the IL list for the Leiria Chamber, highlighted the importance of the mandate he is now beginning, which will coincide with the municipal process. According to the leader, the party’s objective in the municipality is to strengthen its presence in municipal bodies and elect a parliamentary group in the Leiria Municipal Assembly and representatives in parish assemblies.

“IL has good staff of all ages and is prepared to increase its representation in the municipality in the 2025 municipal elections”, stated Marco Ramos, in his final statement to the plenary, cited in that statement, where he highlighted the growth that IL has registered in the municipal area.

“Leiria is close to liberal ideas and can be a beacon of liberalism in Portugal. It is no coincidence that votes in IL have been growing from election to election”, he said.

Composed of elements that transferred from the previous group and “renewed” with new members, the Leiria da IL coordination group was elected “unanimously”. The vice-coordinator is Lino Franco, number two on the IL list for the Chamber of Leiria in the last municipal elections, while João Machado, member of the Parish Assembly of Leiria, Pousos, Barreira and Cortes, renews his mandate as president of the plenary table
