The Aniceto Simões Municipal Pavilion, in Penacova, was the stage for the School Merit Awards ceremony, for the 2022/2023 academic year. Around ninety students from the Penacova School Group and the Beira Aguieira Professional School were distinguished.
The councilor responsible for education, Carlos Sousa, considered this action a recognition of the students who performed well, but also a recognition of the teachers and guardians who supported the students during the work of an entire academic year.
The mayor highlighted the work that has been developed by the council executive in the education sector and in initiatives aimed at young people, highlighting, among them, the school and professional guidance fair, which took place for the third time in Penacova, the increase in the number of scholarships, the summer university, the creation of the Municipal Youth Council, the launch of the Youth Participatory Budget and the most recent, regulations supporting young people and associations.
The ceremony featured musical moments from the Penacova School of Arts.
