Work on installing the Tondela Citizen’s Store has already started: Gazeta Rural

The renovation work on the space that will house the Tondela Citizen’s Store has already begun. The new facility will be installed in the building where the Finance Department operated.

The project was awarded for more than 620 thousand euros, being financed by the Recovery and Resilience Program (PRR). The owner of the work is the City Council.

The project, which is expected to take seven months, envisages a thorough remodeling of the facilities, with the aim of reorganizing, concentrating and rationalizing various public services in a single location, reinforcing the customer service capabilities.

The Tondela Citizen’s Store, in addition to the services of the Tax Authority (AT), will house Social Security and the Citizen’s Space, which currently operates in the town hall building.

“This is a fundamental work for the city and the municipality and will help promote the economic and social cohesion of the territory. With this intervention we will not only train and modernize our public administration, but also simplify and improve service to citizens and companies, clearly simplifying interaction between parties and reducing service time and costs”, says Carla Antunes Borges, president of the City Council.

The mayor believes that the installation of the Citizen’s Store on Rua Dr. Teófilo da Cruz will also help to boost the central area of ​​the city of Tondela, as this artery already meets all the reception conditions for citizens, with regard to parking, among other infrastructures.

While the works are taking place, Finance will be operating at 232 Rua Tomaz Ribeiro, next to Caixa Geral de Depósitos.
