At a time when it is marking 10 years in the Portuguese market, Uber presented UberX Share with the aim of strengthening the brand’s contribution to replacing private cars with a range of shared multimodal mobility options, in addition to Public Transport, and increasingly electric.

“For drivers, UberX Share means increasing the target audience for their transport services and having an option in which trips become longer, as they are linked together by several users, and in which they receive, at least, the same as the than on an equivalent UberX trip” – explains the brand in a statement.

Over the course of a decade in the country, Uber claims to have connected 70,000 drivers to around 12 million passengers of 150 nationalities, resulting in more than 200M trips in 195 Portuguese cities.

In Portugal, the parameters best evaluated by Portuguese users are “service excellence”, “a good conversation” and “clean and tidy car”. The main destinations are trips to and from work, the airport, restaurants and bars, shopping centers, tourist attractions and hospitals and clinics. The longest trip ever started in the Portuguese capital and ended in the south of France.

UberX Share trips can be requested in Lisbon, Margem Sul and Greater Porto from today.
