The UberX Share tool allows you to combine up to three different users in the same car and take them to a final destination. The purpose is to reduce prices, emissions and the number of vehicles in circulation.
Uber announced this Wednesday the launch of UberX Share, which allows users to share a trip in the same car. The new modality allows users to reduce the final price of the trip by up to 30% and reduce emissions.
In a press conference that took place at Uber’s Center of Excellence in Lisbon, the general manager of Uber Portugal, Francisco Vilaça, announced that the tool is now available in Uber’s mobile application and will allow the number of vehicles in circulation to be reduced. Portuguese roads, with the possibility of bringing together a maximum of three users.
The idea involves a single driver picking up these people, possibly in different locations, and taking them to a common final destination.
Speaking to Jornal Económico, the person responsible highlighted the “major objective” of ensuring that “in 2030, 100% of trips [realizadas pela Uber em Portugal] they are zero emissions” into the atmosphere.
