Temporary closure of the Gynecology and Obstetrics Emergency Department at Hospital das Caldas da Rainha

The Gynecology and Obstetrics Emergency Service at Hospital das Caldas da Rainha has been closed since 10pm this Wednesday and will only reopen at 9am this Thursday, revealed the Local Health Unit of the West in a statement published on social media.

According to information from ULS do Oeste, this situation is justified “due to unforeseen absence of medical human resources”, and the Board of Directors of the institution that manages the three western public hospitals regrets the inconvenience caused.

The statement also states that users should go to the Gynecology/Obstetrics Emergency Service of the Hospital de Santarém (ULS da Lezíria), the Hospital de Santo André (ULS de Leiria), or the emergency Obstetrics and Gynecology in the Lisbon area, “depending on the proximity of your residence”.

The SNS 24 line (808 24 24 24) must also be contacted and in emergency situations, contact must be made directly to 112.
