The Municipal Pavilion of Póvoa de Varzim is hosting, until Saturday (11), the informative exhibition ‘Training and Professional Options throughout Life’, part of the 19th Training and Professional Options Forum (FOP). The exhibition opened this Thursday (9), the day on which the author of this year’s FOP poster was also awarded.

Diogo Moita, a student on the Graphic Communication Design course at Escola Secundária de Rocha Peixoto, was awarded 150 euros, a prize awarded by the Business Association of Póvoa de Varzim. 58 students from the municipality of Póvoa de Varzim participated in the FOP poster competition.

Also present at the FOP on the opening day were the vice-president of the City Council and councilor for Education, Luís Diamantino, and the metropolitan secretary of the Executive Committee of the Porto Metropolitan Area, Ana Amorim.

Luís Diamantino highlighted the importance of lifelong training, saying that “training does not end with compulsory education”. “We will always continue to have training, because knowledge does not take up space, and it is also the only thing that remains with us, when everything else is lost”.

Ana Amorim pointed out the FOP as “a reference in the metropolitan territory”, in the sense of “helping to make choices conscious and for the future to be auspicious, taking into account what your perspectives are [dos jovens]”.

The 19th FOP runs until May 23rd and includes initiatives such as demonstrations and information sessions in schools, the Talentos Solidários competition and the 9th Non-alcoholic Cocktails Competition. At the same time, the informative magazine ‘Oferta Formativa 2024/2025’ is being distributed, available here.
