The GNR Territorial Command of Bragança informs that it received, at the Carrazeda de Ansiães Territorial Post, a report of a forest fire. The Guard soldiers immediately went to the scene and identified the person responsible for the fire.
After a personal search of the suspect, the Guard found that he was in possession of a lighter, used to light the fire.
The man was arrested and will appear today, May 9th, at the Vila Flor Judicial Court.
The GNR emphasizes that the protection of people and property, in the context of rural fires, is one of the priorities of the security force, supported by preventive action and a patrolling effort in forest areas, remembering that fires and fires are part of the main causes of fires in Portugal, and recalls that these practices are dependent on authorization or prior communication, and are prohibited whenever there is a “very high” or “maximum” level of rural fire danger.
