The new film in the “Lord of the Rings” trilogy brings together Peter Jackson and Andy Serkis (Gollum) to direct and direct. The two return to Middle-earth again for another chapter in the trilogy that received 28 nominations and won 17 Oscars, including the Oscar for Best Film for “The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King”, the third and final in the trilogy.
The announcement was made by David Zaslav, executive chairman at Warner Bros. Discovery, which also confirmed the presence of screenwriters Fran Walsh and Philippa Boyens in the production of the film.
