Braga Hospital received a visit from the National Coordination Team of the Stop Infeção 2.0 Project, in an initiative that aims to reinforce the institution’s commitment to continuous improvement in the quality and safety of the healthcare provided.

During the visit, which took place in the services where the project is being implemented, the National Team had the opportunity to meet with members of the Board of Directors, Doctors and Nurses of the institution and learn about some current procedures and address some aspects proposed for improvement. The main objective of the meeting was “to discuss the importance of leadership throughout the hospital infection control process, as well as to learn about the local context where the project is being developed and the actions already carried out”.

Domingos Sousa highlighted the importance of involving all professionals in the fight against hospital infections. “Infection control is a challenge that requires a joint effort from the entire team. Leadership is critical to creating a safe environment and promoting a culture of improvement,” he said.

The Stop 2.0 Project, promoted by the Directorate-General for Health, in partnership with the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation and the Institute for Health Improvement, aims to reduce the incidence of five types of hospital infections by 50%, within 3 years. Braga Hospital is one of the institutions that joined the project and is “committed” to achieving this goal.

Braga Hospital believes that “the Stop Infection 2.0 Project will be an important contribution to improving the quality and safety of healthcare provided to its users”.
