Portugal has been presenting electrification rates higher than the European average and this is being felt in Volvo’s business. The Swedish car brand now reveals that the EX30, Volvo’s smallest SUV ever, has been winning over the Portuguese.

This new model is breaking several records and is even the car with the highest volume of Volvo pre-orders ever in Portugal, the company said in a statement.

The vehicle has managed to attract younger age groups and bring new customers to the brand, which has contributed to the results that the company has now presented.

In April, Volvo Cars stated that it “recorded excellent performance worldwide once again”. The 65,838 units registered represented a growth of 27% compared to last year. This result was based on the “excellent results in Europe”, a market where sales grew 65% and the EX30 was even the best-selling model.

Worldwide, sales of the brand’s electrified models rose 53% compared to the previous year and represented 48% of the total. The penetration rate of 100% electric models was already 26% of the total. From January to April, Volvo has already sold 248,525 vehicles worldwide, an increase of 16% compared to 2023
